How we use cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to make this website work, for example to keep forms secure, to remember the area you have chosen while you use the site, and to remember your area for longer if you ask us to.
Because these cookies are essential, the law does not require us to ask for your consent to use them, but we do need to tell you about them.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not allow other organisations to set cookies through this website.
Cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| csrftoken | Protects the forms on this website, such as choosing your area, from a type of attack called cross-site request forgery. | 1 year |
| sessionid | Remembers the area you have chosen so we can show you information for that area. Only set once you choose an area. | When you close your browser |
| rms_area | Remembers your area if you choose Save & remember, so the home page takes you straight to your area’s page. Only set if you ask us to remember your area. Choose Forget my area to remove it. | 10 days |
If you manage this website’s content, signing in to the editing area sets the same cookies so you stay signed in securely.
Changing your cookie settings
You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. If you block the cookies this website uses, some features will not work, for example we will not be able to remember the area you have chosen.
